United States v. L.W. - conspiracy to distribute controlled substance sentenced to TIME-SERVED

Client was charged with distribution of a controlled substance. Allegations included a death that resulted from the conspiracy. After tirelessly working to develop a mitigation plan, and with the help of hard work from the client, the government's request for a four-year guidelines sentence was rejected in favor of Ms. Carmichael's argument for probation. Client was ultimately sentenced to the month of time-served with probation.

Ms. Carmichael was named a Top Lawyer by Washingtonian Magazine and Northern Virginia Magazine. Ms. Carmichael has been responsible for dismissals, acquittals, or reduced charges in many serious cases where her clients were unjustly charged.
